Recruiting Nicholas School Students and Alumni
The career services professional staff will
assist you with "any and all" of your recruiting
needs. We connect employers to top-quality students
and "seasoned" alumni trained in environmental
science, management, policy and research. Nicholas
School Career Services offers a variety of recruiting
options to employers:
On-Campus and Off-Campus Recruiting:
On-campus interviews can be arranged during
the academic year; with either pre-selection
or open interview schedules. Career Services
offers employers an off-campus interview recruiting
option: Career Services advertises your job
or internship opportunity, and collects resumes
from interested candidates and forward these
for your review. Telephone or on-site interviews
can be arranged for the selected candidates.
With the explosion of cell phones as the student's
"only" telephone service, Career Services provides
access to a "land line phone" for these interviews
to ensure a quality connection with employers.

Duke/Yale
Recruiting Fair: Each February in Washington
DC, the Nicholas School of the Environment joins forces with Yale University
School of Forestry & Environmental Studies to
sponsor the Duke/Yale Recruiting Fair. This
Fair is a very cost-effective and efficient
way for organizations, especially employers
who can't do a lot of on-campus recruiting,
to meet and interview potential interns or employees.
It's the most efficient use of an organization's
recruiting resources as it offers one-stop shopping
and marketing for the organization to the two
top graduate programs. Contact Career Services
at 919.613.8102 or email us at careerservices@env.duke.edu
for more information about the upcoming Duke/Yale
Environmental Recruiting Fair.
Annual
Resume Book: While there is no substitute
for a personal interview, we recognize that
this is not always feasible. The annual resume
book is a compilation of resumes of our recent,
or upcoming, graduates. If you are interested
in speaking further with any of the students
whose resumes appear in the resume book, feel
free to contact them directly. If preferred,
the career services staff is willing to assist
you in making contact with our students. With
the explosion of cell phones as the student's
"only" telephone service, Career Services provides
access to a "land line phone" for these interviews
to ensure a quality connection with employers.
Contact Career Services at 919.613.8016 or email
us at careerservices@env.duke.edu
if you wish to be mailed a copy of our annual
Resume Book.
Duke
University Career Fairs: Duke University
sponsors two Career Fairs each year: Fall Career
Fair and the Career & Summer Opportunities Fair.
For annual dates check the University Career
Center website (http://career.studentaffairs.duke.edu/emp/).
Alumni Recruiting: To target only Nicholas
School graduates who are experienced environmental
professionals post
a job with Nicholas School Career Services.
