Proteomics Facility
About

The Proteomics Facility provides access to state-of-the-art, technologically advanced molecular assays for protein profiling. The Proteomics Facilityprovides investigators with assays that require expensive equipment and experience that is not readily available in individual labs. Specifically, the Proteomics Facility:

  • Provides new technologies and methodologies for human and animal soluble protein profiling (Protein Arrays on Beads and Chips)
  • Provides novel approaches to study protein-protein interactions
    (http://tarc.med.unc.edu/~protein/)
  • Provides flow cytometry support for profiling of cellular proteins
  • Provides guidance in the use of protein assays for individual projects
  • Supports the development of protein assays for which there are no commercial sources. This facility is dedicated to providing investigators with the highest quality data and access to the most recent, technologically advanced protein assays. Its guiding principles are to provide economies of scale through use by multiple laboratories and to foster collaboration among environmental health investigators and other basic and clinical investigators.
