The Duke Environmental Leadership (DEL) Program is excited to announce its Fall 2009 Coca-Cola Seminar on Recipes for Disaster: A family’s one-year “oil diet.” The screening and discussion with John Webster, the filmmaker, will be moderated by Dr. Deborah Rigling Gallagher, Assistant Professor of the Practice of Environmental Policy and Executive Director of the Duke Environmental Leadership Program.

Can a suburban family of four live without oil? John Webster and his family tried to answer this question through the making of the documentary Recipes for Disaster. Using web conferencing technology, John will join the audience remotely for a screening of clips from his movie. He will discuss the purpose of his project, obstacles encountered on the journey, and the impact this project has had on himself and his family. Please join us for this event followed by a question and answer session with John.
