Registration

Once you have declared you EN major, you will be assigned an advisor. You should make plans to see your advisor before your registration window opens. With your advisor, you will discuss the courses you plan to take next semester. You must meet with your advisor before you receive your PIN code. Here are some guidelines for registration:

  • Advisors will have sign-up sheets posted outside their offices for scheduling advising appointments. The Director of Undergraduate Programs will hold extra office hours during registration. All EN undergraduates will receive an e-mail listing of the full office hours for that time period.
  • During registration, you will receive a packet containing a personal data sheet (green). It is important for you to review your data sheet, make any changes necessary, and return it to the EN Program Office. Please take the time to review this sheet carefully. The information on this sheet reflects the information we have entered for you in our database. This database is used for many things, including clearing seniors for graduation.
  • A list of approved Focused Study courses for the semester is available on the Approved Courses Page. EN majors can choose from this list when selecting upper-level courses for the Focused Study requirement.
  • After meeting with your advisor, bring the registration worksheet (orange) signed by you and your advisor to the EN Program Office to receive your PIN code. Juniors must submit a final Focused Study essay approved by their advisor before they will be given PIN codes. The essay must be accompanied by the Focused Study Worksheet (blue) to facilitate database entry. Deliver a copy of your Focused Study essay to the EN Program Office when you pick up your PIN code.
