During the summer months, Duke Forest hires several college- and graduate-level students to assist with the maintenance and operation of the Forest. Typical duties include:

  • Road and fire trail maintenance
  • Forest management projects
  • Inventorying and marking timber in preparation for its sale
  • Gate and sign improvement
  • Boundary line location and marking
  • Organizing forest records
  • GPS data collection
  • GIS data entry
