The pursuit of sustainable corporations will ultimately require environmental, policy, and business professionals who are knowledgeable about the opportunities and challenges of corporate sustainability. Part of the Corporate Sustainability Initiative’s mission is to help train the next generation of policy and business leaders in corporate sustainability through various educational programs offered at Duke University. CSI serves as coordinating mechanism to help leverage the vast educational resources at Duke including our top ranked Fuqua School of Business and Nicholas School of Environment.
Training in corporate sustainability requires joint expertise in environmental management and policy and business strategy. CSI helps support Duke's joint MBA/MEM degree – a three-year program where students spend a year of intensive study at both the Fuqua School of Business and the Nicholas School of the Environment with a third year spent completing electives from throughout the University. CSI plans to sponsor a number of activities including a lecture series and socials to encourage interaction and learning among students within the program.
