Research Interest:

  • Blue crab behavior during the spawning migration
  • Reproductive physiology
  • Biological Rhythms

Education:

  • B.S., Biological Sciences, Vanderbilt University, 2005

Bio: My dissertation research is focused on blue crab behavior during the spawning migration in two contrasting estuarine systems, one with strong lunar tides and one with wind-driven tides, to gain insight into decision rules governing blue crab behavior in multiple systems. Most of my research takes place in the Beaufort Inlet drainage and the Neuse River/Pamlico Sound.
I am also interested in biological rhythms in marine organisms, especially as they relate to transport and dispersal.
