Stapleton's experience lies in Fate and biotransformation of organic contaminants in aquatic systems. Focus on persistent organic pollutants (POPs), such as polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs).

Primary area of expertise: environmental chemistry

Secondary areas of expertise: environmental toxicology, estuarine ecosystems, fisheries and fish ecology, marine science
