Conference Objectives: · Building greater mutual understanding among regulatory officials and experts from the United States and Europe on the uses of precaution, “the precautionary principle”, and risk management in health, safety and environmental regulation; · Presenting up to date research on the comparison of precautionary policies regarding diverse risks in the United States and Europe, focusing on case studies involving actual policies; · Inviting feedback on the research in order to obtain improved content in the forthcoming book collecting this research (working title: The Reality of Precaution); and
